This is just lovely, Jane. There's something of the atmosphere that you've captured here. I like the way you captured the movement of the felucca by that small hint of surf behind it. Many thanks too for your kind comment on my painting and for filling in the gap for me. I was in the souk for a couple of hours and took a photo of this man hard at work, but for the life of me, I had no idea what he was doing, so now I know he's a metalworker! In answer to your question, I am a fake Egyptophile, who visited Egypt for only a couple of weeks last year (a couple of weeks before the uprising) and ended up with a ton of photos from which to paint! It's a fascinating country.

This is a good composition. I like the colours and tone.
