Lovely work, Carole. I haven't heard of a comma butterfly before....Is it quite rare? ....lovely to have one in your garden.

Quite beautiful! Such a delicate painting. The English name of "love-in-a-mist" is wonderful, much better than Nigelles !!!!

Thank you Val, William, Avril and Ruth, very kind of you to comment. Ruth, don't see many of these butterflies now, but usually get a glimpse of one during Autumn. They fly off so fast when approached. There is a little white comma shape on the underwing, hence the name. I love our name better too Avril, more romantic.

This is so light and though very powerful. I like poppy-seedheads very much (I draw them sometimes myself). Lowely composition and very special with the butterfly -> lively!!!
