Lovely loose interpretation.

It's an amazing tree Fiona! Your skill spills out of the image. It's fabulous. My attempts at trees just don't quite develop like that.

Very beautiful tree, Fiona, i like much the loose foliage and your palette.

Great colour..

It's a fine piece Fiona the foliage on the tree is handled beautifully ,the trunk to me just needs a couple of lighter dots and dashes that's where a touch of gouache becomes our friend 😊( I do it , now and then ) Either way lovely stuff

Such good brush work and colour Fiona!

Many thanks everyone for your comments! The little fella's doing great Dennis. Thanks for the tip Dermot, I will invest in a tube for occasions such as this.

Beautiful Autumn scene, love the tree Fi!

lovely Fiona, love your quick sketches, I have tried quick loose ones and they always turn out as a blob. LOL.

Who wants a sky when they can have this marvellous tree?

Lovely and loose

Beautiful Autumn colours, Fiona. I so wish I could paint trees!

Thanks very much Carole, David, Margaret, Ruthy, Ellen...I wish I could paint tree's too Ellen...lol!

Thank you Fiona for your kind comments on my latest and also for the lemon yellow and black combo Must give that a go also as I remember an artist over here used it to great effect ; I was brought up old school never use blacks I shouldn't have listened😊

Hi Dermot, I don't use black either but I know some artists do, the colour mix I mentioned with Lemon yellow was with Paynes Grey....makes a good green of different strengths. Thank you for your response.

A very, very quick sketch (it wasn't very warm) in the sketch book of an Ash tree at the bottom of the garden. It's at the in-between stage of the last of the summer green, early autumn yellow foliage and it's covered with Ash keys.....which I have tried to describe loosely with darker areas. I've made a terrible job of the trunk and I didn't even put a sky wash in! lol
