Masterpiece class starts here folks.

Now that's what I call a watercolour.

Good atmosphere here Fiona, can almost feel the wind! Has a Wesson / Owen sort of feel to it.

A very nice loose and well balanced piece of work, excellent Fiona.

Yes one of the best papers and one of the best painting Fiona

Many thanks everyone for your comments, much appreciated.

This is seriously good Fiona, and I know you've had a painter's block so well done for producing this beauty. That sky is classic stuff by the way, tremendous.

This is absolutely lovely, Fiona; the sky is glorious, the reflections are great and the composition superb - one of your very best! (Yes, I'm back home again - problem fixed, I'm pleased to say).

Breathtaking.. Who needs colour fiona lol..

Lovely Fiona just a few flicks of the brush and you have captured the light and an excellent composition David Harrison

Love it Fiona, and for once that's all I need to say.

I love your fresh classic watercolours, Fiona, and this is a beauty. I also love the description that you attach, it makes me feel I am there.

Fiona, this is lovely, great composition and lovely soft colours.

Just found this Fiona-lovely example of pure watercolour-what more can I say!

Beautiful sky and wonderful painting Fiona.

Nearly missed this Fiona, probably because I was looking for 'reeds'! It's very nice, an atmospheric and tranquil feel to it. Good colour as well.

Lovely, broody sky Fiona that compliments the foreground so well.

Another brilliant piece, Fiona - you make it look so effortless! It's fabulous - clean washes, accents in all the right places and atmosphere by the bucketloads!

Seok has just said it Fiona, absolutely fantastic!

Many thanks to everyone for your super and encouraging comments. Really appreciate your feedback, positive and negative. X. I really enjoy doing these 'no fuss' basic palette watercolours and they take no time at all.

It's all been said by the best what else can one add?. A beautiful sky and a feeling of freedom.

I echo every comment Fiona, well done!

Good afternoon, Fiona. Thank you so much for your lovely comments on my return from hospital. I am feeling so much better - not felt this good for years!! I received a parcel from Society for all Artists this afternoon containing my latest order for some more art supplies - so, hopefully, I can get some paint on to canvas (board) again fairly soon. Again, thank you for your comments - they mean so much to me. x

Stunning light in this lovely tranquil scene Fiona. Soft washes and darker marks makes for an exceptional watercolour.

Fred, Russell, Val...thanks ever so much for your comments, you're very kind. Lionel, I'm so glad to hear you're in great shape, you sound so positive in your comments. X

It's also an excellent place for creating a beautiful painting!

11"x9" watercolour on jacksons rough, u marine, b. sienna, r.sienna and a spot of L. red. The river Bladnoch runs into the Cree Estuary at Wigtown, where there is a bird reserve and hide. The salt marshes are grazed by cattle and sheep throughout the year and the meat is reported to be very fine.....and expensive! It's a great place for migratory birds and watching murmurations of starlings coming into the reed beds. It's one of my favourite places to be.
