Love Spike - a perfect hedgehog with his little nose and beady eye. I can see you have had fun with these - it is good to step off the world occasionally and just do something different, isn't it? I am having another go tonight at something using these techniques - no idea what it is going to be or how it will turn out - but then that's the excitement of it.

I hope he is tucked up against the cold winds, great splatter Fiona.

Your hedgehog really lends itself to this technique Fiona!

Spike the hedgehog, brilliant Fiona! Good idea for this splat challenge.

I never realised it was a hedgehog at first its very clever Fiona really nice well done

Thank you Thea, yes it has been a most enjoyable diversion. I look forward to seeing your next masterpiece. Thank you Glennis, I'll make sure he is tucked up away from the cold. Thanks Christine and Carole I think the hedgehog is perfect subject for this technique, it worked really well.

Thank you Dennis, my husband didn't recognise it as a hedgehog until I did the eye.

I am attempting flowers tonight - very controlled blowing required and the straw is no use - you have to use puff to get the direction right. I am adding other techniques as well as blowing and I am up to my armpits in white acrylic paint - why does that particular one go everywhere?? It could end up an unholy mess or a masterpiece - my money's on the mess! It's a slow process as I have having to leave each layer to dry as I don't want the colours too mixed up. It looks like you can do these very quickly but I have found them quite time consuming.

Super spikes Fiona. I agree that smooth paper is much easier but I have trouble getting multiple groups of blown lines like yours. Have you used the straw? You've certainly mastered the technique and I think that you'll be trying one more at least. Hope so anyway!

Looks like great fun and they are smashing colours - but, mouth and straw! I can get myself into enough trouble with just a hand and a brush! Great to see your pic, Fiona; I've often wondered...

Great fun. I think she has her beady eye on those two green insects ahead. And thanks for the tip about smooth paper. I shall go and look for some right now.

For splatters the hedgehog is tops Fiona! He looks a feisty little character :)

This brought a big smile ....... He's too cute! Works really well.

Lovely and vibrant Fiona.

Good luck Thea, it sounds as though you've set yourself an epic. I find puddles of paint and plenty of puff gets the desired effect. I'm off to see if you've posted it yet! Louise you're right I have done another...lol! No I haven't used a straw but I did try a very thin watercolour brush protector tube thingy, didn't work out as well as a large brush protector about a size 12 and plenty of paint in your puddles. Lionel, lol, you made me laugh with your remark regarding getting into a mess just using hand and brush! Thanks for your comments.

Thanks very much Dennis, Sian, Sarah, Avril, Kal for taking the time to comment, glad he made you smile.

Love Spike - great attitude for a hedgehog to have, made me smile too!

Thank you Debs and Gudrun!

Spike is absolutely gorgeous!! I wonder what Cedric would say if he saw him?

Something on the lines of Eeeeeeekkkkkk!!!! Thanks very much Satu.

Watercolour on very smooth paper, the paint travels further with not much blow! Spike will probably be the last splatter and blow from me, really enjoyed the diversion. I think Spike looks a bit grumpy too.
