Beautiful work Fiona. Love the broody atmosphere in the clouds, and the reflection in the water. Hope the oils are coming along. I know it seems like hard work, but I'm confident that you'll crack it.

I thought you couldn't do boats Fiona a really good piece beautiful work

Always nice when you lose something only to find it again, lovely use of ink!

I must have another go with Quink, I really like the effect how it splits when you add water. Thanks everyone!

Lovely study Fiona - I sometimes use sepia watercolour and build up the tones but Quink is a great ink to use especially when it separates.

Amazing what we find in there Fiona, I'm going through it too. This is so good too.

Yes Michael it's quite a spontaneous medium to use and one you don't have much control over. However it does produce lovely surprises, thank for your comment much appreciated.

Thank you Derek for your lovely comment.

Hi Fiona, thank you so much for all your comments on the work I posted today. I now can't think of anything but 'Strip the willow'. Actually, I could only get so much of the picture in camera shot. The lady in green is dancing with a partner, and if I can, I'll upload the second half soon, under Strip the willow'. The Broons have always been a big influence on my cartoons, so thanks for spotting that. And Happy Burns night! Ah'll be raisin' a dram tae the auld bard the nicht, an' borin' ma folks wi' the poem o' Tam O' Shanter! Lol! X

This is beautiful - you really are a talented lady, Fiona!

Stunning, Fiona! Love the variety of lines and marks, and the wonderful tonal work.

Beautiful Fiona, I love the bleeding in that sky, good strong detail too.

I am wildly jealous of this, it is so simple and very effective. Wonderful.

Many thanks everyone, your lovey comments are always appreciated.

Wish I could find a painting like that in the bottom of my drawer. It is lovely Fiona. I am very partial to boats and especially in these sort of colours.

I did this with black Quink ink, just a (very) rough sketch then added water. Finished off with a few marks of waterproof ink. Found it at the bottom of my art drawer.
