It's a great sketch for a painting, Fiona, and stands alone as a fine and subtle pencil sketch in its own right. You've developed excellent depth and perspective, and with just a few marks you've created a convincing inlet. Really good. Brian

Brian, thank you very much, so glad you like it. It isn’t a secluded bay, in fact the A75 goes over the burn that flows in to it. I’ve only ever seen a couple of people on the beach, always lots of birds waders mainly and on occasion a couple of goats! A very nice cabin called The Teapot that does a tasty bacon roll and hot chocolate. A treat in the winter when I’m suffering from cabin fever!

Thanks Alan! I’m going to do a sketch of the complete opposite weather conditions to this, not calm but stormy! Many thanks Sylvia, Stephen and Lewis for your generous comments. As with a painting, I think you have to know when to stop fiddling when sketching, it can soon be over done, which I usually do!
