That’s beautiful, Fiona. What are the eggs made of?

how creative you are Fiona what a lovely present

This one is very great Fiona, this is artwork too, and great creativity. Wonderful present for your friend.

Wow....great work...very creative...love it! The eggs look like painted stones maybe?

What a clever lady you are :) It might not be painting but it is still art Fiona, and very good art it is too.

This is beautiful Fiona and a lovely gift for your friend. I'm sure he will really appreciate the work involved. Clever you!!

It's brilliant Fiona, what a lovely present. The barbed wire seems to emphasise the fragility of the eggs which I find quite emotive.

Haaaa that is so beautiful Fiona, you have such a great imagination :)

Who says it's not art? I think it's really good

A beautiful piece of work - a great present!

totally agree with everyone! It's superb and definitely Art!

I thought this was your nest egg for when you are in your old age.! Very effective and creative, well done. I hope the present receives the appreciation it deserves.

Beautifully done Fiona, very clever and inspirational .

Goodness me, Fiona! That is a really special creation! A lucky bird enthusiast has something to treasure coming his way. Thank you for showing it.

Great present, Fiona. It would make a super painting too.

Well done Fiona, it's certainly original. I love it.

Wonderful. Couldn't have been easy using that barbed wire!

Thank you Seth, very kind. The eggs are pebbles, tried to get the ones that had an eggy shape and similar size. David, Cesare, Sylvia (yes, pebbles), Val, Carol, Russell, Carole, Alan, Maureen....thank you all ever so much for your encouraging comments. I wasn’t sure whether it would be accepted as ‘art’, so thank you. It measures about 10” in diameter and about 5” in depth, it’s a solid piece and is quite hefty. The pebbles are painted with gold enamel paint, but it isn’t a bright enough gold.....may have to replace when I pick the correct shade up from somewhere. Thank you again.

Already there Tony! And I’m still looking for my nest egg......thanks very much, I hope he likes it too. Thalia, Gudrun, David, Ann, Dawn....it would wouldn’t it, good idea, Lewis and Dorothy.....thank you so much for the lovely comments on my pile of scrap, as my husband calls it! Lol. I’ve got all kinds of rubbish like this knocking about the garden! Dorothy, it is quite difficult to bend the wire but the more decayed it is the easier it is, I find. I wear my old motorbike gloves, the only ones that the spikes don’t penetrate.

has to be art -" found art" ? think it is a great concept and presentation - plenty of barbed wire over here Fiona , we have fences not hedges, in the main.

I can only say that I agree, this is a lovely present, you are certainly very creative.

This is fantastic Fiona, you are so talented and not afraid to try anything😀😀 This is definitely art in another form and its so clever, I'm sure your friend will be delighted with it.

What a lovely gift, Fiona. And very creative.

Mike I would be in barbed wire heaven.....thank you very much. Sandra, Margaret, Ellen many thanks ladies for your wonderful feedback, hope he likes it.

I know it isn’t proper art but this is the kind of thing I get up to when I’m not painting. I make things from scrap metal, this is a thank you gift for a gardening friend of mine, he’s a bird enthusiast. It’s made from old rusty barbed wire which I cadged from a farmer friend.
