Beautiful scene Fiona, looks chilly there.

That is just lovely Fiona! Beautiful gentle palette and gorgeous sky!

Now this is very promising stuff Fiona, well done, lovely tonal values. Fabulous place, you are lucky!

You oil painting is gaining in confidence, Fiona, and this one looks very assured and professional. I particularly like the foreground rocks which look very solid and authentic.

Lovely Fiona particularly the sky and the distance beautiful work love it.

A very nice painting Fiona

Lovely work Fiona, you are doing very well with your oils, must have another try.

Many thanks to you all for your encouraging comments, it's a real boost reading what you have to say.......I'm still finding my feet with oils.

It must be an optical illusion but the mountain's look slightly bowed, I've checked it and it's fine!, strange...
Sent you a reply on the same page... Alan

Fiona, I have just knocked out a quick oil sketch on a 12x16'' canvas, never paint this small usually but my youngest daughter Michelle gave it me this morning when I went over to visit, she doesn't paint oils that small anymore, Dad's influence I expect!

It's based on this one of yours which I do like but I thought I would add my own touch. I've got to take a pic of it and will be on my website around 5ish when I'm back. I will probably be ridiculed because I've gone a bit over the top with the sky, oh well, we'll see, I don't care anyway as I'm sure you know.

Look forward to your honest comment, if you like it you can have it. Alan

It isn''t so much bowed Alan, more like tipped up....it runs off to the right. That could be down to the photographer! (me)
I think your version of Galloway coastline is so exciting and fresh, it's quite exhilarating to look at.

Another superb painting, Fiona. What a glorious sky! Thanks also for your second comment via my Flowers in a Pot pic. Mary was really pleased that you sent best wishes to her and remembered that she had a back problem, now largely cured. Yes - two Fionas - what more could a man ask for! Off to Spain shortly so I may not have much time for painting before I go - lot of documentation to sort out for the Spanish solicitor. We shall see. Thanks again for all your lovely comments and I will certainly be in touch when I return. xx

Thank you Lionel, thank you Dennis. Have a good trip Lionel!

Love the tranquil atmosphere of this piece, Fiona, and the varied brushwork.
