Super work Fiona. It gives the feeling of a lovely sunny winters day, cold because of the snow but the sienna's add just the right amount of warmth, especially in the walls of the cottages.

I agree with Val, lovely work and a beautiful painting. Christmas card perhaps.

It is now necessary to look for the name on these postings......is it an Alan or a Fiona? But don't worry about that because your creativity and your confidence will make these offerings your very own style. This is a super painting, Fiona. I also love your Old Man of Stoer and the Chopdyke (??) picture is just lovely. Very well done!!

Thank you Val, Glennis, Lionel I really appreciate your comments. Welcome home Lionel, hope you're well.

You have a good teacher, and he won't let you follow him so closely that you won't develop your own style; so keep going ..... the more you paint, the better you get.

Hi Fiona, I feel Robert is right, if you are guided, you learn the techniques, from there you develop them in your own way and creat you own style. Love this one, keep at it Fiona.

Many thanks Robert, Peter for your continued encouragement. Alan has been wonderful and has so much knowledge, I hope some of it rubs off!! Thanks again.

I like the rich colour of the trees here Fiona and the snow works well.

A lovely painting. As has been said before the shadows on the snow turn it into a painting of a sunny day in winter.

I think everyone has already said it. This is super & I agree with Lionel that it is now necessary to look for the names. You have certainly learnt a lot from Alan but it does still have your style to it. A lovely painting.

Beautiful colours and good contrasts. Very good Fiona.

Many thanks Stephen, Pat, Carol and Carole for taking the time to have a look and your comments.

Just been browsing through your portfolio. Love your style and particularly like this snow scene. Makes me look foward to Winter a little with the crisp frost and snow perhaps!

I'm always impressed with what you paint. This has a lovely feel to it.

Bridget and Gudrun, I'm really grateful for your lovely comments, thank you.

This is superb Fiona! It couldn't be better! The snow is cold, white and crisp and the shadows so well painted. Well done!

This would make an excellent Christmas card - how about entering it into the competition. I do like your warm rusty colours which add a wonderful contrast to the chilly colours of the snow. Lovely work, Fiona.

Thank you vey much Satu, much appreciated. Thea, you have much more confidence in my painting abilities than I do.......enter a competition....ME? Lol! Thank you very much.

Beatuiful painting Fiona

Thanks petra!

Beautiful palette, Fiona, and gorgeous result! Super!

This is very eye catching Fiona. It would make a nice Christmas card.

Thank you very much Seok and Sarah. I haven't thought about making my own Christmas cards for this year but if I do I'll certainly put this one to one side for consideration. Thank you both for your comments.

Alan has very kindly been giving me a few tips and hints on how to improve my watercolours and compositions. Alan has some lovely colour combinations, which I love in this one, especially the umbers and siennas. 12"x16" Jackson''s rough, Old Holland watercolours. Thanks again Alan!
