Lovely painting Fiona, nice palette colour and composition

Nothing wrong with using ink Fiona.----like the painting --- the wall is vert well rendered. Mind you that bush looks ink to me !!!!

Great colours Fiona and a lovely subject. Also love your chicken shed which I somehow missed - what else is in this interesting garden I wonder...

Lovely painting, Fiona. The grey, yellow white combination works really well. The fence is really well painted, fine wire masked I think and works well.

This is wonderful, Fiona. Beautiful composition and the colours are jumping of/from (what is the right word in English?) the page. Stunning and so full of light!!

Thank you Petra for your kind words, No ink Charles....honest, thank you. Jane, Pat and Mia thank you for taking the time to look and comment. Pat I cheated with masking fluid on the chair but not the fence. I did that by using a watery mix of gouache on the edge of a piece of card cut to length.

Wish I was there now keeping it company - what a lovely little study

This is superb, Fiona! Lovely wet-into-wet. The wire fence is very well done with just the right amount of curve on the card. As for the wall - I love it! I get the feeling that you enjoyed doing it as much as we enjoy admiring it.

A really excellent job on the chair, you also seem to be using a brighter palette,I also like the touches of colour on the stone dyke

Lovely colours and texture.

Your pictures are always so interesting! Such a good title as well. I've a good picture in my head now of the banished chair, just round the corner from the blue chicken shed. It all conjures up a lovely image. I use the card with black or white gouache technique as well. It gives a good straight line doesn't it? Lovely colours here.

The chair really stands out against that burst of yellow, lovely.

Another great picture...makes me want to take up painting...dare I start another craft?

Thank you Michael, it is a pleasant spot to stop for a while, it's in a beautiful garden full of character. Lionel, you spoil me with your comments, thank you, and yes I did enjoy doing it. It was like being back there in the garden whilst I painted it.

Hi Kevin, thank you for your comments. I did use different colours than I normally use; cobalt blue, which I hardy ever use and lemon yellow. Thank you Avril for yor kind words.

Thank you Louise, yes using paint on the edge of card certainly makes doing straight lines a whole lot easier. Thanks Val.

Go on Irene...give it a go. Thank you for allowing me to paint from your garden.

Great vignette and it is always lovely when an artist picks an unusual subject that others would overlook and makes something of it.

Thank you very much Thea, you comments are always welcome.

I missed this one, somehow. Love the colors, Fiona, and the focus on the white chair is brilliant. It just tells a story somehow. Lovely!

This lonesome white chair is just a little further on from the 'blue chicken shed' in my friends garden. It has been banished to the veg garden.......because it has the dreaded wood worm and isn't allowed in the house. Ah! Painted on rough paper and not a drop of ink anywhere!! Mind you, I was tempted!
