Fragments on a Path once Dreamt

I think it's awesome Eril, so interesting and wonderful.

Magical. Little bits of genius in here and great touches of humour like the octopus. I love it.

Quite brilliant. I love the concept and the execution.

Fantastically weird, beautifully done Eril. Salvadore Dali would have loved it. Love the chimps under the brolly.

Absolutely brilliant Eril. I could look at your painting for hours, not only looking for hidden treasures but also the meaning behind the individual stories.

Brilliantly bonkers. Love it!!

Utterly brilliant.👌

Amazing 🥰

thank you everyone! yes Fiona, many little stories and snippets. There's bit of a self portrait in there (well half a face), a bit of Dali, dutch still-lifes, a shout out to Magritte with the bowler hat silhouette on right side. A room of tales and memories with an old projector shining out, a shadow of a horned creature unseen up the stairs - the life preserver to save us. There's life's baggage there, while 2 simple monkey's look down on us all with the key. A good mate in our 20's stuck a big no.6 on his roof like a racing car for a laugh and yes - the most expensive painting ever sold in Salvator Mundi there, but a bit of irreverence as Christ holds the golden party balloon. (Not the Mona Lisa as a few have said to me :). And that's before we even get to the cunning fox on the rhino! Lot's of little bits and blurry metaphors to spark the imagination I reckon

Absolutely brilliant work, Eril, every inch a delight to investigate and contemplate.

There's certainly much to fascinate here, and all beautifully painted. I like the way the sea blends into the tablecloth, and I also like the two monkeys with the brolly, and I've spent ages looking at it all!

Amazing painting and detail, I hope you are professional. If not why not? Outstanding

ah the old 'professional' question haha. thank you mate! :) But yes - what does professional mean? Truth is, like many of us here, we paint for ourselves first. Because we enjoy it, or it does something good for us etc. But I have for the last few years tried to sell what I output. I'm in a couple of small galleries down in Sussex and pop out some social media posts and do prints etc. However there's not a lot of spare £ floating around right now and many of my originals are waiting for new homes hehe. Like many artists I work other job/s right now to pay the bills. So I guess 'professional' in thought and aim, not so much in practice if my bank account is any guide haha.

Now for something a bit different... 68cm x 48cm, Oil on canvas. This was started over 5 years ago! Began as an Italian town scene, didn't quite grab me, so started evolving into this surreal scene. I've added something to it after too much procrastination every now and then, with some throwback memories to bits from the past. When to stop? If I do/add more will anyone ever notice anyway? So this could be it I think, as I look at it my inner crazy man thinks its sort of there finally... :)
