Oystercatchers by Emma Price

You have captured the elegance and their concentration so beautifully Emma.

They are great. Emma.

Your oystercatchers are always very good

Beautifully painted Emma.

Thanks everyone.

Gorgeous birds, gorgeously painted; they always seem to be feeding - I suppose birds really have to; we see them often along the West coast of the Isle of Wight, which means I don't see them as often as I used to, as I'm in the South East strip.

Thanks Robert - whoever came up with the expression "eats like a bird" had clearly never seen a bird eat!

Very nice Emma.

Thank you Shaun and Spencer.

Beautifully painted, full of life and movement.

Thank you Kylia.

Very nice. An active scene. Beautiful.

Thank you Sunil.

Very good. I particularly like the way you have introduced colour to ostensibly monochrome birds. Did you know the collective noun for Oystercatchers is a 'parcel' or a 'stew'?

Apologies for missing your comment Roger - no, I didn’t know that, how weird!

A5 on Bockingford, now happily sold. I always enjoy watching oystercatchers preen, they perform some interesting contortions to get their long beaks into all the awkward places.
