Having looked at all of your Gallery for a beginner you are doing fine.Just keep going.

A lovely portrait full of character and life. I love doing portraits in watercolour and although they are tricky to pull off, they always have a freshness that the other mediums struggle to emulate. I wish I could do hair as well as you have done in this one! You'll have to give me some tips.

Just finished this one.. no 4 in colour. It's funny, Until a couple of months ago I always felt that watercolour didn't really lend itself to portraits and only painted landscapes (perhaps with a little figure in if I was feeling brave), but then looking through the galleries on here I was inspired to have a go! And I'm really loving the challenge... although I do get to a point of obsessively tweaking which I never have with a landscape. This one is at the point where I have to walk away and stop fiddling! Might try it again in Sepia where I feel more confident. I'm very much a beginner with this so I really appreciate your comments!
