Beautiful colours and reflection. Another bold , successful painting. Do I read 'wet socks'!? You really have merit painting on scene this winter but it brings super results.

Interesting that this was posted alongside Alan Owen's latest, because you have a similar fascination with strong darks, and an ability to use them to create shimmering light effects. Painting from the subject really pays off for you - you see things and can represent them which would probably be lost in a studio painting.

You have certainly succeeded here. Lots of lovely textures. So well done.

Thanks for your kind comments. Yep wet socks. My walking boot fell apart!! I've really enjoyed working plein air and consider all my paintings as sketches of what I see (an approach I first started to developed when painting birds) rather than finished paintings. This removes some of the self imposed pressure to 'get it right'. Its all mist, snow, rain and cold, so looking forward to a bit of light and colour.
