Messing about

P do like the looseness of this Dixie.

Full of spontaneity!

It looks like a cloud of mist rolling in, quite atmospheric Paul.

Lovely messing about!

Very good Paul; I really like the mistiness. I hope your arm is less painful now, and that you are on the mend.

I agree, rather a lovely misty effect and looks like it took a lot longer than 15 minutes! Sometimes the unplanned works well as it has here.

Sometimes you just need to splash some paint on some paper and see what develops. Good result for 15 minutes.

A pretty good mist effect. Yes, watercolour drying quickly at the moment.

Your messing about is very Good Paul, well done.

Thank you all for your kind comments. I think it’s a case of painting early or later in the day when it’s cooler, I usually try to work mid morning but it’s been to hot even them . Probably best to do some sketching and setting up painting for the future.

A great piece of messing about! A lovely composition with mist over the water and distant trees.

Looks like a great 15mins of fun Paul, luckily for me its much cooler here today.

Lovely use of colour.

Spencer , Val and Ross thank you for your comment I appreciate them.

Very effective.

Many thanks for your comment Kit.

I’m finding it’s to hot to watercolour paint it dries before you can blend it or get any decent amount on the paper. In frustration I soaked a sheet of A4 watercolour paper and let drain for a while, once it lost the shine from the water I just added layers of colour and let them do there own thing as it dried (very quickly) I was able to do a little more detail . Not a particularly good painting nut fun to do in 15 minutes.

I have sketched most of my life on and off I became interested in watercolour following a spinal injury whilst in hospital but did not follow it up. My eldest daughter bought me a beautiful wooden box set of half pans about twenty five years ago I dabbled on and off until retirement twelve years…
