Really like this Paul. Single colour monochrome conveys the scene so well.

Thank you Carole and Chris, it was cold we were doing night patrolling as part of the training. It was so very silent that it was a bit spooky, the slightest noise made you jump.

The monochromatic approach has worked so well here. It has that intense coldness about it.

Great monochrome. Sometimes this is more effective than colours for winter scenes.

A4 watercolour using only Payne’s Grey, of this I’m not totally sure. The painting was done many years ago and is from memory of a scene at midnight in Canada temperature was-20 or so. I tried a photograph but it never came out properly due we thought to the cold temperature. I was so taken by the woodland looking one colour that years after I still recall it and this was the result
