What a cracker , I was saying to Dennis sometimes I turn them upside down or paint on top of old paintings sometimes it just happens and results in a stunning painting as this has SUPERB.

Thanks dennis. This was on original 15 x 22inches now a half a sheet of a paper I didn't get on with for watercolour. It was going to be a steam loco in York, which I finally completed as a commission for my nephew. I seem to remember a NOT surface which I'd been given.

This is a stunning work, Derek, wonderful painting full of life and atmosphere. It was a good idea to recover a old painting.

Full of energy - great outcome Dennis

Thanks Cesare and Mick

GETTING THERE DEREK, USE BIGGER BRUSHES AND LESS COLOURS THESE TIPS WILL ALLEVIATE AN OVERWORKED ,MUDDY FINISH

32 x 24cms on an old failed watercolour. Based on memories of a place we stayed at near Poitiers 4 yrs back plus a lot of imagination using inks and paint.

Eleventyeight as my hashing pals called my new age recently, it's supposed to sound better. Trying to paint every day in acrylics using only expired credit/debit cards, and partially succeeding as they're only for me and not show these days.
