Possible recycle by Derek Snowdon

Thanks Angela. The sketch was purely that, on the spot at the time with the photo to back it up, so I won't be doing much to that. The figure was from life and I have no record of it in form of photo or sketch, silly me. With skin tones etc I am really a learner and not sure which way I should take it, hence the idea it could be painted over. I will think about it.

They look like nice pictures just finish them best you can if they don't work out paint over them good luck with it ,

Once it's gone it's gone Derek, don't make a rash decision.

In my opinion Derek, your watercolour needs some more darks that's all. As a general rule, before trying to improve any painting, I ask myself this question: is the work still exciting me or is it boring me and becoming a chore? If the latter, I put it away, often never to return.

Thanks Dennis, Stephen and Frank. I don't intend to work on the watercolour sketch. You are making me think again about the figure intended for the recycle, but I will toy with it.

They look pretty good to me as they are! Sometimes, we are all a bit too hard on ourselves. Ask yourself what you like about the paintings and what you don't like. I am sure the former will have a longer list.

Thanks Thea, the answer I gave Angela answers some of your queries, anyway, it's gone now under the start of the bar interior.

Here is the sketch, the failed figure work and the photo of mine taken earlier this year. Toying with painting over. I haven't got the reference with the original painting, done when I was working in oils, from life, for an intense week. Any thoughts folks?

Eleventyeight as my hashing pals called my new age recently, it's supposed to sound better. Trying to paint every day in acrylics using only expired credit/debit cards, and partially succeeding as they're only for me and not show these days.
