Messing about or not the outcome is good - getting really into abstracts myself at the moment - they are really under-rated but there seems to be one or two coming along on this site at the moment so there's hope. Do post some more.

Thanks Michael, not sure which way to turn this to be honest. Not sure if I will do more, there was no thought process going on.

I like the movement in this Derek, good just messing about isn't it? you come up with gems sometimes.

Yes thanks Carole, but which way up should it be? Did any or do any of the speciailists in abstract know which way they intended it?????????

I have never tried an abstract and I suspect I would find it very difficult as I try to order everything and you can't do that with this type of painting. Really strong shapes, lines and colours and although I'm not much of an admirer of abstracts, you have definitely engaged me with this one.

Thanks Thea. Are they meant to do this - engage someone's attention, cos' I don't know. Never tried before and still baffled by them.

I like this very much Derek and for me it works very well this way up! I have done quite a few abstracts over the years and somehow they always seem to be right way up from the beginning. It probably comes from the way you hold the brush and from the mind's eye. Here you have some constructive lines and shapes to hold the painting together and then those loose blobs and splashes which create a very pleasing ensemble. Well done!

Thanks Satu - indeed from an expert. I suppose there is some rhythm to it

More messing about this morning with acrylic paint and inks. Just trying things.

Eleventyeight as my hashing pals called my new age recently, it's supposed to sound better. Trying to paint every day in acrylics using only expired credit/debit cards, and partially succeeding as they're only for me and not show these days.
