Great write up on what happened when you set out to paint this Dennis, did you join the Art Club? There is a 'chilly morning' feel to this, it really good scene, maybe you have included some of those racehorses coming back from the gallops for a bit of extra added interest, bye for now x

A lovely, clean sketch - stands on its own as a work of art, or could be used to develop a more detailed and strongly coloured painting.

This was a chilly morning in Middleham, N Yorkshire. Lots of race horses were being brought back to the stables after being on the gallops. I remember that a gentleman, a retired doctor, came to see what I was doing - he was a painter too. I know that because he told me so and he asked me to join the local art club!
