The shapes of this old building, sited in the harbour in Gloucester ( you get a glimpse of it in the film 'The Perfect Storm') have always fascinated me. I have sketched it several times. But on this occasion it was the beautiful colours of the tree on the left. I made this watercolour at home, long after I'd observed the scene and without doubt the colours are exaggerated. But I like it. Gloucester and the surrounding area is a perfect paradise for painters!
