Floral by Denis Pickles
The suggested theme for work at the Art Club today was ‘Sepia Landscape’. I didn’t fancy the ‘landscape’ element and decided to paint a floral. Problem? I didn’t have sepia in my palette so I used burnt umber modified with ultramarine where I wanted it a darker tone, I used a tailors chalk pigment block in dark brown and of course Chinese White. The more I look at it, especially in a mount, the more satisfied I become.
