Lovely people painting Denis.

This painting has a happy feel to it, Denis - looks like a nice family day out, and people were obviously enjoying the sunny weather... great job with all the figures (not easy).

That's a beaut, Dennis. The trees and buildings are beautifully done, but it's the superbly observed people that make this sparkle...excellent.

The people are great.

I agree with Lewis and the other guys. The people really make this painting sing. The action and perspective all play their part very well indeed. AND!! the more you look the more you see. I like that very much. Brian

I really appreciate all the positive comments. I enjoyed painting this picture which is a wee bit different to the work I normally do. To be honest, I wasn’t all that keen on the painting location which the group had selected for our final morning. The place seemed a bit bland and I decided that it would need people in the picture to make it work - the more the merrier! The snag was that most of them were on the move and it was a question of trying to make a snapshot with your eye, trying to remember how they looked in a split second. And that’s what I did. The only one that I painted who kept still for a few minutes, is the chap sitting down watching the kids at play.

I painted this on the last morning of our four day painting break in North Norfolk. The place was busy! Lot’s of visitors enjoying the sun. I tried hard to capture the movement of the people - school kids, elderly folk etc., I enjoyed the challenge and talking to people who were interested to see what you was doing.

Keen on art at school and would have dearly liked a job with an art connection- I had hoped to get into architecture, but it did not happen.…
