I painted the original picture several years ago in the harbour at Southwold. The sheds and the boats and the visitors who come to ‘gawp’, eat fish and chips and just enjoy the ambience of the place, always provide a subject to paint. On the occasion a local artist had a stall where she was selling her work. It added interest to the scene. I chose to use the image as my subject when I did a demo of how I use ink and wash to a nearby Art Club last week.
