This the sort of "Almost abstract" that I really like, lovely merging of colours.

Like the very loose painting a lot it really well done. What is a Fude pen ? excuse my ignorance.

Terrific Dennis.

Paul : you ask about the Fude pen. It is like an old fashioned fountain pen. The difference is in the nib which is curved. The thickness of the line the nib makes is varied according to the angle the pen is held to the paper. You get a thin line the closer the pen is held to vertical - a thicker line is obtained the closer to the horizontal. Do I explain myself? You can check it out on the web.

I love this one...it would make a lovely card.

Yes it woukd make a lovely card.

Fantastic merging of colours (beautiful colours at that). Scrolling lines and blots love it.

Dennis, hope you don’t mind but which fude pen do you use? Thanks ..

Lovely abstracted blooms, a painting that is very pleasing on the eye

Carole : you ask which Fude Pen I use. I don’t mind telling you that it is quite an old, battered Sailor Green pen. I think it cost £12. As you probably know, they come in various shapes and sizes - and costs. Being a Yorkshire man I don’t like parting with my brass so I selected the Sailor. It became battered ( the cap dropped off and was clipped by a delivery van) when I was sketching whilst waiting for the second of my Covid injections. - there was a long queue! I retained the pieces and the cap is now held together with masking tape! But it still works.

I do like this, Dennis! Lovely wet washes and great marks - looks effortless ( but you need to know what you’re doing)

Thank you Dennis. Your pen has had a rough life but you produce great art with it. I looked the pens up and was shocked at price! The Twisbi? Something like £50-60 and over, need to find cheaper 🤔 I will look for the sailor 👍😂

Brilliant! And contemporary with it!

Done in a rush with runny watercolours, clean water and a Fude pen.

I’ve been drawing and painting for a long, long time. The first picture I have still in my possession is dated November 1939 and 83 years on I’m still at it! Keen on art at school and would have dearly liked a job with an art connection- I had hoped to get into architecture, but it did not happen.…
