Love the colours you have used, and the way the fish are posed with their mouths open. Very like some of Jeremy Wade's "Monster Fish" if you get that programme in the UK.

The real work was done by Ted Goerschner. I just followed his lead. The composition, the colours were conceived and executed originally by him! His wife is a very talented watercolourist too - Marilyn Simandel.

If I see artwork that I admire, I have no hesitation in trying to copy it. But I do not try to pass it off as my own work. I just feel that you can learn so much from following the ways and means used by a master. Anyway, I came across a book - The Workshop Experience, by Ted Goerschner, an American painter who died a few years ago. Ted painted vibrant, colourful, exciting oils and this is a picture I made using acrylic paints following the instructions in the book. I have never seen fishes like these - but I love them; they make me smile!
