In the summer months, our Art Club has a change from the usual indoor meetings. We paint outdoors. Inevitably time is limited and we have to work quickly as it is usually too dark to see much by the time it gets to eight o’clock. This painting is a half sheet pen and wash which took me just over an hour to produce and I did the drawing with a Japanese style pen with a fude nib. The only no used was not waterproof and when the wash goes on, the effect is somewhat ‘smudgy’. I’m not displeased with the end product but I wish i’d taken my insect repellant!
