Wow Debs, beautifully portrayed, love your palette and your poem;)

Lovely work, Debs! Love the tonal work and the dreamlike feel of the painting. Goes perfectly with the poem!

Rather spooky, but in a good way. Your interpretation of this figure completely suits the subject - the purples and touches of pink add to the ethereal drama of the painting. Trust you to come up with something completely different!! Really well done!

Thank you so much Carole, Seok and Thea. I love old Victorian graveyards and so I had to have a go at this one, unfortunately the picture is not very clear, but heyho what can you do!

Quite extraordinary and spooky too Debs but after having read the poem it makes sense and the figure is beautiful. Well thought!

I'm so glad you enjoyed the poem Satu, and thanks for your lovely comment too!

Playing catch up on POL Debs so coming a bit late to this one but you already know how I feel about it anyway :)

As you may know I'm a sucker for poetry, and when I saw this photo on PMP I straight away thought of Walter de la Mere's lovely evocative poem The Stranger. It's last lines are :- Day breaks in heedless beauty, Kindling each drop of dew, But unforsaking shadows dwell Beneath this lonely yew 'And all else lost and faded, Only this listening head, Keeps with it's strange unanswering smile, It's secrets with the dead
