Very well drawn Debs with such detail!

Thank you Louise, it was fun to draw!

A super pen and ink, and lovely to hear your thoughts when painting him.

Hey Debs, fancy meeting you here! Love the drawing!

Thanks Lesley Cheryl and Gudrun for such good feedback!

I love your quirky take on things. Poetry and painting all together - very highbrow, Debs! As always, a beautiful drawing with lovely detail. I really like the expression on the elephant's face - perhaps he doesn't appreciate poetry! Very unusual subject, which you are so good at finding, very well executed.

Wot - an elephant that doesn't appreciate poetry?? Thea you're having a laugh..... !! Thanks very much for the comment, me highbrow? - never x

Thanks Debs for your lovely comment on my pastel playful puppy, you got any of those aceo's on the go yet!

Pen and ink wash. Inspired by Cheryl Neilson's photo on PMP. The statue is outside the Parthenon in Rome. When I was working on it though I couldn't help but remember the poem 'Ozymandias' by Shelley. Yes I know he wasn't an elephant, but I'm sure the king of kings would have had such statues littered around the place! Love the following lines:- 'My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: Look on My Works, ye mighty and despair! Nothing beside remains.Round the decay Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare The lone and level sands stretch far away.'
