...and you look great Debbie. I totally agree when you do a self portrait you do tend to see resemblances and traits of other family members, past and present. It can be quite unnerving sometimes, but of course it's what makes you, you!

Hello my friends on painters-online. I just finished reading a biography on Durer. I have been inspired by his soft portraits of the Renaissance period, of the ivory gentle complections and natural folds in the robes of their clothing. Firstly, I decided to have some fun at drawing blind contour drawings in my sketchbook. They were super charicature sketches and taught me much about my face, hair and personality which was coming through. As a result, I have created my self portrait. In this face I saw many other peoples faces and personalities, whom I have known in the past. It was an interesting exercise and I love my peroxide blonde bombshell, Renaissance style hair. This is Me!
