Thank you all for commenting so positively. It's strange but I don't feel the cold till I finish painting, mind over matter, I suppose. And we do have a warm pub to thaw out in over lunch. And the gate may look inviting, Heather, but it's permanently closed with a barbed wire fastening !

The strong sun failed to raise the temperature above 1 ‘C so I was reasonably happy with today’s outdoor session on my local patch.
