Rising Tide at Pin Mill

Rising Tide at Pin Mill

This is just lovely David....

Smashing use of the medium on a great subject. Haven't been there for years.

Great work David, cheers, Paul ;0)

Lovely watercolour David, beautifully captured scene.

Lovely serene watercolour David.

Thank you all for your kind comments. If you go again, Derek, I think you'll find not much has changed, except the prices in the Butt and Oyster!

Thank you, Michael, you couldn't have a better hero! Perhaps have a look at the work of Andrew Pitt, a current Suffolk artist, who portrays this coast in a Wesson-like style better than anyone I know.

I've just returned from a brief visit to Pin Mill on the River Orwell in Suffolk, something I try to do at least once a year, and more often if I can. It's so quick it's impossible to paint it live so my preferred method is to take photos and then watch it from the bay window of the Butt and Oyster pub alongside.
