Thank you both for your supportive comments. Hope you don't want a model fee, Derek! This was one of those times when a camera worked well as an "instant sketchbook", and I tried hard to interpret the photo, rather than copy it.

When I'm walking our local canal, I do like the place to myself, as a true wildscape, but it is home to a wonderful community which I thought I would portray for once. This is a couple keen to set off on their journey but too polite to cut short the chap on the towpath who's imparting his vast knowledge of narrow boating over a cuppa.
