Hen Cloud from the Roaches by David Whitehead

I really like this watercolour David. Nice clear washes and such and interesting location. The shadows are very well placed.

Love these rocks David. It always looks so good there I must go walking sometime.

Thank you both for your comments. It is a great walking area but a bit windy for painting on the spot. I have to admit I took photos and did sketches on this walk, then did the painting at home the next day. Even better than the views - if you follow the line of Hen Cloud down to the right you come to a terrfific tea shop!

Lovely expression of the wide open space and clean air!

Great painting David, you have really captured the rocks so well and the mood of the place, I have spent many years climbing and walking in the area and leading groups there, love the place and you have really done it justice, nice one.

Enjoyable spot well painted. I recognised the rocks from a holiday I had up there, brings back happy memories. Like the distant blue hills almost merging with the sky.
