It is a really lovely painting, David. So gentle. Your kind comment on mine made me hoot with laughter. 😊

I love forests and woods I find them mysterious and this painting depicts that atmosphere beautifully.

Yes we should be very happy, as witnesses to lovely things, and using our imaginations - very nice!

Wow David, it's gorgeous!

Wish I could paint like that David superb light and the details are spot on and your drawing skills are brilliant

Super oil study, David

I would think being in dappled woodland must be one of the most sensory experiences you can have....it's certainly at the top of my list of favourite places to be. You've caught the scene beautifully David and I expect to enjoyed every minute.

thankyou Shirley ,Janet ,Satu. Dennis thankyou for your kind comments but I echo the comments about your work too you have produced some stunning work . thankyou Pat for your kind comments Thankyou Fiona yes it was lovely being on my own in these woods with the birds singing ,no wind and sunlight filtering through the trees .As my wife says life is lovely on planet Dave! its certainly a sensory moment being brought back to the real world by my wife!!

Beautiful work David... time well spent, cheers, Paul ;0)

Remarkable - a great exercise in conveying subdued light, making a peaceful scene much in tune with what I enjoy most in both landscape and painting.

Robert, thankyou for your lovely comments best wishes

Haven't you read the small print David...it's our job to keep you grounded you know!

Fiona grounded! I'm in the basement

Oh dear, but have you earned your place in the basement David??

yes Fiona you are right I am always in error!

I feel I'm there David! I love the shafts of light . It just goes to show how being on the spot painting is so much better than painting from a photo.

many thanks Sarah .I do enjoy painting on the spot although its still as frustrating because the light changes so quickly you are trying to remember the scene 15minutes ago .Also you have to decide what colour it is you are looking at and quite often you go home thinking what a waste of two hours .But then somehow things begin to fall into place the next day ......if you are lucky.

David, I am in love with the finesse of your work. I feel as if I could walk through this wood!

many thanks Beatrice you are lovely x
