Beautiful painting, David, love those crisp shadows. (I keep meaning to try gouache, this has inspired me to get some! Out of interest, what colours did you use to get those greens?)

Super light and shadow David. All very well observed, first class.

Hi Jenny thankyou I use w and newton designer gouache. Along with the colours we are familiar with in oils or acrylic there are some different ones in Gouache too such as ;permanent green, forest green ,chromium oxide and linden green . For the shadows I used a combination of cobalt blue, chromium oxide ,permanent yellow and brilliant red violet. Takes a little while to get used to gouache as it dries so quickly best wishes David

thankyou John all the best

This is a cracker David, lovely work on the shadows!

Beautiful gouache work David! I've just started to get familiar with gouache and I'm trying Holbein Acryla which is not a true gouache but as advertised it does not shift in color when drying. But as you said it dries really fast. I think, it dries faster than acrylic paint. As you said, it probably takes getting used to but I think I am going to try to mix gouache with other paints and see if this makes me more exciting.

thankyou Jola It's exciting to experiment look forward to seeing your results best wishes x

Now you’re just showing off........lol.....look at those shadows, fab-u-lous David!

Marvellous painting David

Lovely! Love the colours and shadows.

Lovely work David, you've caught the light well. Gouache is fast becoming my favourite medium these days.

Wonderful early morning sun shining through the tall trees here David. The contrasts are very eye catching.
