Study in coloured pencil

This is amazing Russell. I love how you always express the inner self so astutely. It must have been quite a challenge to paint his very white beard. The turban is a work of art in its assembly and your painting of all the nuances of colour within. Would you use this medium again or is it too time consuming.

It's great Russel! He looks a real character and you've captured the subtle changes in skin tone, turban and shirt really well. I would definitely stick with these coloured pencils as you've given this so much depth.

Stunning work Russell. No sign that this is your first attempt with CPs, I'm not surprised...they're another form of drawing and you excel at that. (I have Faber. Water-soluble and Polychromous...the latter not being soluble. I love 'em.)

Carole - Yes I will certainly be using them again, I didn't find them more 'time consuming' than any other medium really but then I am slow whatever I use. Noel - I used Strathmore Tan toned paper Roger - I used the 'white' included in the set
