Really nicely done David, great pallet and the low cloud across the left hill is great. The aerial perspective really gives the real sense of scale of the place and your work on the crags and reflections just superb, I know the place well and you have done it justice, nice one.

This is lovely . The painting has great atmosphere and a sense of place and the colours are wonderful as are the soft suggestion of reflections

Beautiful view and colour palette, David. There is a lot of depth in it. Love it!

Amazing colours David and your work really is so grand.

Thankyou Malcolm, Heather, Mia and Carole for your lovely comments

Your colours , reflections and composition make for a lovely painting.

This is a superb painting David.

Super work David, has a lovely stillness about it. I also like the drifting midst, I always find that tricky.

There are some really talented water colourists posting on the gallery at the moment and you’re one of them David. Love the left hand hillside!

Thank you everyone, Stephen, i usually do the mist with a damp natural sponge. If you are working on a wood pulp paper such as Blockingford cold water will do, however if you are working on rag papers sometimes you have to use warm to hot water with the sponge. I once had to submerge a whole painting in a warm bath!!! The things we have to do as watercolourists

Thanks for that tip David, must try that out. I read in a James Fletcher Watson book, to add some water above the mist and paint into it, always proved disastrous in my hands!

20" x 16" watercolour. Most Artists paint this from the other end of the Llyn, but i liked the tree and foreground, plus the pass going up the mountain in the distant and of course the rock face. There is a camp site at the end of the Llyn near the trees
