I completed this composition earlier in the year during our first lock down which co-incided with Anzac Day (similar to the 11th Nov). There was a bit of initial wet in wet and then the rest was wet on dry. The image is based on a small photo from my grandfather's album of WW1 which depicted the central figure standing amidst the rubble and ruin of the church - somewhere in France I think. I added the background, poppies, gravestones and tomb to complete the scene.
