sorry i cant help with your oils as i just doodle in pencils but from one cat lover to another well done, excellent

Sadly I am not an oil painter as such more an animal artist in watercolour, but all I can advise is to strengthen your shadows a little more to help the form of Princess Blanche. Other than that I think a lovely painting. Such a sad story though she must be a very brave cat.

Thank you Mark and Paul, yes she is a brave little might, she did not cry but once a whimper when the dressing was removed after the leg procedure, she remains a very slow cat to come to the lap but shows great courage with our other two boys. Its really interesting to whatch how the boys , when chasing her, slow down to allow her to play !!. Animals have an understanding beyond our comprehension .

This is a painting I have wished to attempt for a while, my second oil, using Jacksons Artists Oils. This princess was an abandoned cat, left with one front leg hanging in a sack of skin, fed for some months by caring holiday makers and just surviving until we found her, we had the leg removed, then some months later the vet said that the ears would also have to go as there were 80 degree sun burns which would likely lead to cancers. I had wished to have a picture as close to as she was, before the ears were removed, as today she looks more like an otter !!. I wonder if, once the canvas has dried, I could improve the picture with a wash of, say Cadmium Red Light to warm it up a little, any comments would be appreciated.
