I like it very much - the colour in the sky works so well against the crisp outlines of the mountains, the warm spot on the side of the houses connects to the sky and the mist effect is perfect, not dominant. It's pretty well perfect Christof.

Lovely watercolour Christof - beautiful clear washes and delicate colours.

So simple.... and yet so good!

“Fog in the morning”, Watercolour 56x38cm on Saunders Waterford,640g. Our neighbor’s farm was embedded in fog when the first sunlight reached the mountain range behind. I started painting the sky with a wet in wet three colour mix. To come close to the vibrant early morning mood I mixed the colours on the paper. Starting with a wash of Yellow Ochre just right over the mountain peaks, followed by a second wash of Alizarin Crimson on top of the first and finalized with a strong Cadmium Blue layer on the very top of the other two. I let bleed the colours into each other before I tackled the foggy foreground. Here I wet the paper and worked with different mixtures of blue/grey to get the tonal values right. For the mountain peaks and the roof tops of the farm I reserved the white of the paper and did add just some small details at the very end. Hope you like my approach of the foggy morning.
