Chas , again I like the painting but prefer the left side to the right on tonal perspective. On the top right quarter ,the darker green back ground seems too uniform in tone value and , for me , lies flat , my eye doesn't move up that side so easily,- darker shadow tone for the immediate right portion of green?, stronger colour? ? I used to photocopy my paintings into black and white in order to look at tone value - which I have always considered very important.

Thank you for your opinion Mike - but yours is just one of many - and everyone sees an artists work in a different way

Well said Chas. My motto is if you don't like a painting then don't comment! As for this one I think it's brilliant, I love the composition and would love to be able to paint as good as this!!!

Nice work Chas, I do think one of the best things about P.O.L. is the feedback we get from other members, I can't say whether or not this particular point is valid or not but it is good to listen to people's thoughts.

Your work is quite amazing Chas and don't let anyone tell you different. So much clear and exact detail, would love to know how long, on average, your paintings take?

Stunning work, Charles. Superb textures and layers and full dramatic tension.

A reverie.

Hi again, Chas. Just read Mike Capenerhurst's comments and have to respectfully disagree. My eye moves happily round your picture, and I like it.

There is so much detail in your paintings, lovely.
