Lovely to see your preparatory drawing on this one, Cesare. It's coming on very well, and is sure to be one of your masterpiece portraits. So much character revealed, and looks so good already.

You seem to be taking more time over your painting Cesare. This is going to look good for sure.

Even as it is its a marvelous character study and with just a few strokes youve captured the whole eastern philosophy and spirit of this man. Fantastic work cesare. I am a firm follower of buddhist teachings myself and this is one of your most powerful and moving depictions of humanity.

Thank you Ivan, Dennis, Ann, and John for your encouraging comments. I was totally discouraged about this portrait and, as John said, this is the firts time I devoted more than a two hours session to a portrait and I thought I lost my loose style.
