Moonlight on the beach (reworked)

Moonlight on the beach (reworked)

Personally I think it has worked Cesare.

Thanks so much, Sandra, for your generous support.

Nice clean colours here Cesare and I like the depth of the shadow colour on the left. You could add a figure or boat in the distance as a final point, or perhaps that would spoil the calm effect you have created?

Sea is too blue for moonlight desaturate colours. Also create low key lighting by using a chiaroscuro effect for moonlight. Darken foreground and horizon. This should create atmosphere.

It's much better than the other painting but you need to emphasise the difference between night and day. If you use much more darks in the sky, sea and foreground the light will stand out. Hope you don't mind my suggestions but it is potentially a lovely painting Cesare.

Thank you Stephen, Ronald, and Carole for your kind comments and generous suggestions. I know that there isn't the right atmosphere, and I agree with your suggestion, but to rework all painting on Yupo paper is very hard, because the washes flow freely and one could damage the bordering areas of the painting. It would be much more easy change the title of the painting, or change the moon with the sun!

A lovely painting whatever Cesare. The vegetation on each side is also very interesting and I like the shadow colour.

Thanks so much, Carole.

Watercolour on yupo paper 34 x 48 cm. Photo by Ktryon on pmp-art.com. I darkened the clouds and added some shadows just trying to create a bit of atmosphere. I don't know if this has worked.
