Excellent! An old friend. My Studio was just a few storefronts down from his studio when he was in West Hollywood, doing the Poloroid collages. (I ended up with an unfinished one.)

Caught him prefectly.

Or even perfectly!

Super portrait Catherine ... and a mighty good hand!

Absolutely caught him in likeness and spirit...and that hand is exceptional!

Super portrait.

Great portrait. I don't think I have ever seen him without a cigarette.

Wonderful portrait Catherine. Well of course, he would have a cigarette.

Superb portrait Catherine.

Excellent.

Amazing!!

Such a characterful portrait and the pose is so natural and lively Catherine.

A very good portrait but in my opinion a mediocre artist despite quite a decent wealth of vision. Hockney I mean not you Catherine. You're a better artist than him. Im a Yorkshire lad myself and I can tell you id pass him by in the street. I don't much like him as a person neither. I can think of maybe a dozen artists on here far superior. Anyway this is all irelavent really. But lastly I have to see he's so over rated it's pretty ridiculous

Thanks so much for all the wonderful comments - didn't expect this on my 1st post! As an East Yorkshire artist Hockney is a man I would love to meet.

Well done Catherine, it’s a superb portrait of David, the detail is so good. We have just had a holiday in Yorkshire and visited Saltaire Mill , his paintings were amazing .
