Hi Carole, Nice painting, you have got a good contrast and the street lighting lifts the painting, I think it the best one on your site.

I must say Carole you have done a lovely job here. I really like the light and shadow the white building is standing out amongst them. The vertical really works. A very appealling painting. Excellent.

Very nice indeed. must look stunning in the 'flesh'

You certainly set yourself challanges! As Paul says I think it is one of your best yet. Extremely well done.

Great painting, and really challenging, but you have succeeded.

Carole, you have really progressed since you first came into the gallery, each painting is more ambitious than the last and this is the best yet; you must have so much patience. Keep raising the bar!

Wow how lovely of you all to take a look and thank you everyone for your uplifting comments. I'm quite pleased with it myself! I never quite realise what a big challenge I'm giving myself until I get cracking - but it certainly keeps me quiet for a few days. Robert - thank you for your encouragement - I'll raise the bar next week - think I deserve a rest now. Thanks again everyone - I love this site. Will have been on it a year in Feb - can't believe that!

Carole, my very first comment on the forum was about your painting - "impressive"- but I wrote it in the wrong place! Were you like this when you started or is it just me? The only thing "wrong" about this site is that it is hard to stop logging on - will I ever get any new painting done?

Hi Carole.... i missed this one when added, glad to catch it whilst browsing my regulars profiles . :o)........ it has a medieval flavour to it, though i guess they wouldn't have had street lighting back then. a great piece ......Steve

Thank you for your comment Marjorie - don't fret took me a while to find my way around too. Yes this site can draw you in (no pun intended)

Hi Steve thank you. Just a photo I saw in a magazine - cheating I know!

Hadn't caught this one Carole, outstanding, as far as I'm concerned one of the best that I've seen from you. Very well done!!!!

I too missed this one Carole...I agree with all that has been said [I too missed it earlier] absolutely stunning and possibly your best work so far...these big architectural works seem to be your forte I think...Perhaps you should move in this direction?

Thank you kindly Phil - I enjoyed doing most of it - learnt a lot about forward planning whilst doing this one -

Really nice painting. Not suprised it has so many good comments. Brill

Thank you very much John. This painting got "Commended finalist" beginners category at the SAA this year. Off to Islington in 2 weeks time to see it hanging at the exhibition - very exciting

Just loved the highlights and shadows in this - hope I've captured it. Painted the sky vertically to echo the spires and reduced the detail as you come towards the dark behind the street lights 24 x 18 inch acrylic on canvas
