That is a superb portrait, Carole!!

What a joy - bet the parents are delighted but, oh my, a fractured spine that sounds nasty?

Beautifully painted, Carole, I feel the love.

Thank you so much David, Heather and Lesley for your positive comments. Your support is alway very welcome. Yes Heather, I’m in a lot of pain and apparently it takes 2 to 3 months to recover so the painting has taken a back seat for now.

This is lovely, Carole. Just as a little baby should look, and it’s not easy to achieve. Hope you recover soon.

Oh Carole- that’s superb!

Beautiful! Hope you on the mend

You've done well with this: so many child drawings and paintings get all the proportions horribly wrong, and make me wince - it'd be cruel to comment on some of them, so I restrain myself! But you've got all the salient details right, and in proportion. Yes, I had a fractured spine, too - a long time ago now, and I'm afraid I have to tell you that it still gives me a great deal of trouble, especially given there was also neck involvement, and an unfortunate tradition of family arthritis, that moved in as soon as it got the chance. So - do take up any offer of physiotherapy, and do the exercises recommended: I really didn't - I went back to work and hoped it would get better... well - it didn't. So don't let that happen to you.

Wonderful portrait.

You have done a fantastic job here Carole! There is a lovely warmth to it. I really hope your back injury gets better soon.

Many thanks to you lovely artists Marjorie, Rachel, Spencer, Anne, Stephen, David and Faye for your ongoing support and kind comments. Thank you Robert for your encouragement and I will take your advice as the pain is extremely debilitating. Sorry you still suffer with back problems Robert.

That's just gorgeous, dear Carole; I hope she's as lovely and fun as you've painted her? just beautiful! Much love and God bless, my friend xxx

Gorgeous. Love those eyes!

Beautiful Carole, just beautiful!

Well done Carole for a lovely portrait- beautiful eyes and mouth. Not easy when you’re in pain. Hope you feel better soon.

Thank you so much for those generous comments Andrew, Rilke, Russell and Christine. Much appreciated.

Beautifully done, Carole, love the rich foreground colour. (Sorry to hear of your back problem, I know how debilitating it can be. Hope it eases up soon.)

Absolutely lovely - painted with skill and sensitivity Carole.

Brilliant!

Aw so cute Carole!!

Carole, what a lovely portrait - lovely use of colour. Sorry to hear about your back - I have a back condition which over many years has fused the vertabrae of my spine - ironically the more immobile I become the less painful it is - so at least there's a bit of a silver lining. I never paint plein air because of this but always work from photos I've taken - but art really is good mental therapy even if its sometimes a bit of a struggle - hope your back is improving.

Thank you so much for your kind comments Jenny, Shaun, Fred and Audrey. They mean so much to me. Thank you Audrey for your encouragement regarding back problems. I think if I do a very little each day maybe I will cope.

Such a lovely, beautiful, joyful portrait, Carole! Hope you are doing better now and good good quick quick recovery and painless days.

Beautiful, hope you feel better soon Carole

Delightful. I was discussing how difficult babies are to draw and paint only yesterday, you must be very pleased with this.

I painted this portrait as a gift for parents who have had their first child (nine months’ old now) and they are so enamoured with her. My first attempt at painting a baby and I enjoyed the process but have a fracture in my spine so could only manage to paint a short time, so it has taken me a while to finish it. Soft pastels with pastel pencils. 12” X 16”.
