I think it’s a great effort- in my humble opinion I think there is too much going on but it shows excellent painting technique.

I like it but it's probably two separate paintings (foreground and background)

Good effort Carole. Not an expert but in my view, may be the sky needs gradation towards horizon and lighten the mid ground to create more sense of depth! At the moment everything is attracting too much attention and making it busy.

Such an interesting view, Carole with lovely water and I can understand the temptation to add those extra details ! Well done, though!

Dear colleagues I completely agree with all your comments. Did realise on reflection that it looked very cluttered. Less is more and I will keep this in mind whilst attempting other paintings. Thank you Andrew for your useful feedback. I suppose we all have failures from time to time and I recognise this as a poorly, planned, painting without sufficient thought to distance, depth and composition.
