Oil sketch, approx 12x9 inches on canvas board. I know this subject has been painted a million times but I love this whole area, probably because of its history, so I thought I'd try a slightly off beat approach. The on screen reproduction isn't that great but it gives a hint of how it looks in oils - I was trying to show the "effect" rather than the details.
